Alufoil Trophy
Awarded by EAFA, the European Aluminium Foil Association e.V., the Alufoil Trophy recognises achievements in the use of aluminium foil, many applications being linked to the sealing of rigid metal containers:
Alcan Packaging and the Impress Centre de Recherche de Crosmières won a Trophy in 2009 for the first commercial application of a new peelable opening system able to withstand a continuous retort process without overpressure. The cans feature Impress' Easip® ends which are now used by Bonduelle for canned vegetables.
